As promised, in one of my previous blog posts titled Experiment with my Sleep Cycle Part 2, I mentioned that I would be applying one of the exercises in the End Tiredness Program Ebook to find out what my sleep cycle is.
The End Tiredness Program is an Ebook by Tina Hagen and Peter Novak which I read recently. If you are interested in my review of the Ebook, please read my End Tiredness Program Introduction and 3 related blog posts of my review of the Ebook.
Here they are in case you missed them:

The exercise which I chose to apply is called the Sleep Log Table.
To recap from my previous blog, if you are trying to improve the quality of your sleep, it is a good ideas to understand what a sleep cycle is and to find out what your sleep cycle is.
By applying the exercise from the End Tiredness Program, I will be able to find our the following about my sleep cycle:
The length of my sleep cycle;
Average amount of hours spent sleeping each night;
Average amount of time required to fall asleep each night.
Results of Sleep Cycle Experiment
The length of my sleep cycle was spot on with the average which is around 90 minutes.
Other interesting comments
I found that it was a bit difficult to record exactly when I exactly I fall asleep. I tried getting my partner to time when I actually fell asleep from the time I went to bed. For the purposes of the exercises, my best guess was around 15 minutes each night. If he fell asleep before I did, then I lost my record keeper!
The other factor that I would have liked to record more accurately is how I feel when I wake up each day over the 7 days. That would be interesting to record as it may give me an indication of which stage of sleep I am actually in when I wake up.
Next Steps
I may repeat this exercise again, or I may apply one of the other 2 methods detailed in the book to find out what my sleep cycle is.
In summary, my sleep cycle is around the average of 90 minutes.
Do you want to know your own sleep cycle?
If you want to find out what your sleep cycle, purchasing the End Tiredness Program would be a handy resource to read. You really need to read about the mechanics behind sleep before you launch into finding out about your own sleep patterns.
