Here are some more useful sleep tips to help you sleep like a baby.
Reduce Caffeine Intake or Cut Caffeine Completely
If you are still sipping umpteen cups of coffee, especially strong brewed coffee, or strong coffee from your local café, it’s time to make a change to your health. This is particularly important as you get to the latter part of the day, from the afternoon onwards to the evening. Caffeine can have a lasting effect for quite some time after being consumed. So it’s best to take caution, and reduce your caffeine intake especially after lunch.
If you’re not quite track sure how much caffeine you are consuming, do a diary or journal for your week’s consumption. Recording your consumption of caffeine for a week, say from Monday to Sunday, should give you a fair indication what your caffeine habits are like. Perhaps you thought you were a moderate drinker, but it turns out that during the working week, you are consuming a fair amount of coffee to get you through your working week, urgent deadlines, to reduce stress.
Reduce Your Stress
That brings us to the issue of stress and your body. Stress can interfere with your quality of sleep. Some people experience high levels of brain activity mulling over problems, worrying about their personal problems, and what they have to do tomorrow, and what they will have to remember for next week’s sports event they are attending etc.
If you know you are susceptible to ongoing stress in your daily routine, reducing your stress levels can be a great area to focus on so that you can learn how to sleep better.
Activities Just before Sleep - What are you doing just before you go to sleep?
Review the types of activities you are engaging in just before going to bed. Are you all hyped up playing adrenaline based games on your computer or Xbox?
